Ibex is looking for a Senior Network Engineer with experience in WAN protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), LAN/WLAN (DNS, IP addressing, QoS, Spanning Tree, Multicast), Cisco Catalyst switches, and Cisco ISR/ASR routers, who can provide Tier 1/2/3 support to diagnose and resolve escalated issues.
Troubleshoot and provide Tier 1/2/3 support to diagnose and resolve escalated issues that may cause service degradation or connectivity interruptions across the Data Center, Disaster Recovery (DR) site, regional hubs, and all branches
Manage and maintain network infrastructure, handling new tasks independently
Perform routine network maintenance and system upgrades
Monitor network performance to ensure system availability and reliability
Track resource utilization, analyze trends, and support capacity planning
Adhere to established configuration and change management policies to ensure change awareness, proper approvals, and successful implementation
Define and implement network security rules, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the security team
Liaise with internal and external teams to resolve issues efficiently
Handle network-related queries from operations and end users
Maintain network tools and applications such as SolarWinds Orion, TACACS, and configuration backup systems
Join incident bridges, manage trouble tickets, and respond to real-time network queries
Coordinate with telecom/carrier service providers as needed
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
4 to 5 years of experience with WAN protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF), LAN/WLAN (DNS, IP addressing, QoS, Spanning Tree, Multicast), Cisco Catalyst switches, and Cisco ISR/ASR routers
Knowledge of NG firewalls (multi-vendor: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate) and security products/practices (ACLs, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
Familiarity with wireless access controllers and access points
Project experience implementing core infrastructure, networking, and cloud-based services for business teams or consumers
Experience with SDN/SD-WAN, public cloud, and security products/practices (ACLs, firewalls, VPNs, etc.)
Expertise in troubleshooting routing, switching, and VPNs; strong understanding of WAN and internet multi-homing architecture
Experience with security audits, network patching/upgrades, and compliance with network security policies
Knowledge of ITIL and enterprise change management processes
Operational excellence with a solid understanding of ITIL practices
Strong experience with next-generation firewalls (multi-vendor: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, FortiGate)
Proficiency with Cisco IOS, Cisco ASA/Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet Wireless, SolarWinds, and other network management tools
Team management experience
